A Harare man yesterday [Nov. 5] left the court shocked after he produced used condoms as exhibit which he claimed were proof to show his wife was a serial cheater
Martin Makoni produced at the Harare Civil Courts the condoms and a photograph of his former wife Progress Tirivangani in the company of an unidentified man. He is seeking a protection order. "Before she went to South Africa for some time with another boyfriend who later threatened me with unspecified action, she cheated on me several times and I had to pardon her for that," Makoni said while producing the condoms and the picture. "She would go to lodges with several men and one of them is her former workmate with whom she had pictures taken. I tried to confront and counsel her, but she sped off in her boyfriend's car.
"At one time one of her boyfriends called me in the presence of her brother who studies in South Africa and I realised she had changed her surname.
"Her boyfriend ordered me to stop communicating with her saying I was old enough to be her grandfather and I am pleading with the courts to protect me." Makoni said he was continuously living in fear since Tirivangani's boyfriend threatened him with unspecified action.
Speaking through her lawyer, Tirivangani did not respond to the allegations of infidelity and applied for the court to grant a protection order and a peace order.
