In 2011, Governor Oshiomhole of Edo state disgraced the chairman of Task force, Rtd. Oloye for demolishing legal structures. The public display of power generated a lot of buzz from every quarter at that
time. The questions on most lips was, Why should he appoint a MAJOR to head a town-planning demolition exercise when there are lots of qualified townplanners in Edo State and why should he act as a prosecutor, a lawyer and a Judge (Things shouldn’t work this way in Democracy).
Here is the videoIn yet another incident which can be best described as cold hearted, Edo state Governor Adams Oshiomhole said to a crying widow ‘go and die’ during a sanitation exercise in Benin City with some state officials recently. The woman was hawking on the road side which is illegal in the state but to tell her to go and die after she knelt in front of him, crying and begging him not to seize her little means of livelihood, is just cold-hearted. This can best be described as the most shocking remark made by the Governor to a poor widow. He said: “You’re a widow, go and die!” Did he tell anyone before he was elected to go and die with their votes? He has been called to serve and its for a stipulated period.
