Late Sheikh The suspects Seven suspects have been paraded in Abuja by the Department of State Service, DSS for the assassination of Islamic scholar, Sheikh Albani, his wife and son. Sheikh and family were assassinated on February 1, 2014 after a preaching session at Markaz Salafiyya Centre in Zaria. The gang had waited carefully for him to finish preaching before attacking his vehicle while he left the premises. They shot at him several times, shot at his wife and killed his son too. Other occupants of the car also sustained various injuries, but it was obvious it was an assassination as they made straight for his family. The seven suspected killer gang who confessed committing the crime told journalists that they decided to assassinate the Islamic scholar
because he revealed the secret of their activities to the state government, exposing them as members of the Boko Haram sect. They would soon be charged to court.
