OKIGWE SENATE 2015:Group plans 50,000 man march for Benjamin Uwajumogu:
Uwajumogu grassroot movement (UGM) a political organization in Okigwe Zone, has promised to mobilize over 50 thousand Okigwe Zonal youths to pressure the Speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly to run for Imo North senatorial seat in 2015. The State coordinator chief Ugwu Osuagwu who made this disclosure while swearing in the Executives of the Obowu local Government chapter of the organization threatened to storm the House of Assembly with over 50 thousand members of the organization and remain in the premises until the speaker declares his intention to run for Senate, warning that they will prepare to stay for more than 7 days to pres home their request. While cautioning Okigwe politicians against hiring fronts to make unguarded utterances against the office of the speaker, the group also warned that they would henceforth come hard on any politician who hire fronts to abuse or make inflammatory statements capable of deforming the character of the Rt Hon Speaker. ‘’Okigwe people want to support and urge Speaker Uwajumogu to hasten up and declare to run for Senate position before we carry out our threat. ‘If Uwajumogu says he is not going to run, we will compel him, we will mobilize over 50 thousand members of our group to block the entrance of his office until he declares. it is on record that uwajumogu has done well as a Speaker,he has empowered the youths ,he attracted projects to our zone and our Zone will witness an unprecedented developmental stride if we send him to Abuja’’.he maintained.
